Tai Chi and Qi Gong in Malvern

Chi Flow began with a simple idea: join the slow, flowing movement of Tai Chi and Qi Gong with the structure of yoga.

Roman Kouzmenko has taught this way at his studio on Glenferrie Road in Malvern since 2001.

What Chi Flow takes from Tai Chi and Qi Gong

  • From Tai Chi: smooth, unhurried movement that flows from one shape to the next.

  • From Qi Gong: breath, focus and attention on the Dantian, the body's energy centre in Chinese practice.

  • From yoga: posture, alignment and strength.

The result is a practice that leaves you calmer and moving more freely, without pushing you to exhaustion.

Is this traditional Tai Chi?

No, and it is worth knowing before you come. Roman does not teach set Tai Chi forms. Chi Flow is his own practice, built on the principles of Tai Chi and Qi Gong rather than their fixed sequences.

If you want slow, mindful movement for balance, mobility and calm, it is a good fit. If you want to learn a traditional form step by step, a dedicated Tai Chi school will suit you better.
